Mixing different styles in the interior is a popular trend today, which has already been devoted to whole design directions.

Eclectic, fusion and kitsch are completely different styles, united by one common thought: a harmonious blending of several directions of interior design in one room.

Exclusivity, individuality, the maximum opportunity for self-expression and a huge space for creativity are the main trump cards that distinguish eclectic, fusion and kitsch among other directions. However, they also have a framework that should be adhered to. Even an outrageous and screaming kitsch should be logical and harmonious. Eclecticism

Eclecticism is a conservative and restrained mixture of different design directions. The basis for eclecticism is the classic, it serves as a background for elements of more dynamic styles. Eclecticism is the same classic, but with a more flexible framework. Baroque, Rococo, Renaissance, Gothic, Scandinavian style, ultramodern directions – their different variations can dilute the room, but it should look harmonious.

For eclecticism are characteristic:

1. The predominance of pastel tones. Here, the most commonly used shades of beige and white, combine them with bright colors and decor elements.
2. A single idea, uniting all the design directions present in the room. Here, do not mix more than two or three different styles. Transitions between them are always smooth.
3. In the room there may be a few extravagant elements in the room: ethnic or oriental furniture, elements of Art Nouveau and Impressionism, bright screaming canvases or massive sculptures – all this can be used in decor, but in the end it looked elegant.
4. Little color, but a lot of light. The abundance of bright colors is rare in eclecticism, but it is not forbidden. The main thing is that the interior should be harmonious. Fusion came about when people felt a strong craving for travel and began to bring from everywhere different little things to decorate the house. This style is famous for its ability to mix different western and eastern styles. It is extravagant than eclectic, because it mixes more incompatible styles, there is no longer any classical background, more attention is paid to bright colors.

Features of fusion style:

1. A harmonious blending of seemingly incongruous classical trends in one room. For example, here, modernism unobstructed meets Borokko and Gothic, and is diluted by impressionism. This happens in styles fusion and kitsch, but fusion, unlike kitsch, must find in these completely different directions a general idea and subordinate the whole room to it.
2. It creates a sense of naturalness, the lack of an exact plan for the design of the room. The interior seemed to have appeared on its own. There can be no two or three, but just several styles, eras and colors. But this meeting should be harmonious.
3. The color scheme can be completely different. It can be calm pastel shades, screaming bright colors. Here are often used new, orange, gold, green, green, turquoise, blue, yellow, purple and purple. The most important rule is the presence of color unity. It is necessary to mix only the colors combined with each other.

Kitsch

Kitsch is an extravagant and flashy style that borders on bad taste and is trying to cross that border. This is a mixture of bright, dynamic and flashy styles and colors. It is psychologically difficult to spend a lot of time in a room decorated in this style, so it is most often used in the design of youth centers, nightclubs, cafes, and other public places offering active pastime. Few daredevils are ready to issue a room like this.

Despite its apparent simplicity, kitsch is one of the most complex areas of modern design.

For kitsch are typical:

1. Mixing a lot of bright screaming colors. The most popular colors in this style are red, yellow, blue, green, green, orange, lilac, blue.
2. The combination of the most different styles, different from each other. Eclectic and fusion combine classic styles, while kitsch offers guests such combinations as country and futurism, neon lamps and candelabra, an old mirror next to an old road sign.
3. Riot of small decorative elements, present in abundance: bows, ruches, souvenirs, stuffed animals and so on. It creates a sense of flea market.
4. Extravagant interior and a sense of bad taste in the design.

Mixing different styles in the interior can give an interesting result. It is important to find a unity between different styles, to unite them with a common idea that will permeate the entire space.
